Why We Supply Dixon Sanitary Quick Connects (and Not the Hardware-Store Kind)
Carbonation is a low-pressure environment
Typically under 15 PSI. That sounds odd until you think about what connectors are designed for. The common automotive and high-pressure quick connects are engineered for extremely high pressures, and their makers are not particularly concerned about tiny leaks at low pressure. In a brewery, that’s exactly the failure mode you get.
The two failure modes of automotive-style connectors
- The false connect. The collar doesn’t seat properly, it feels connected, you walk away, and gas is seeping out of the bottom of the connector. Your carbonation plot then tells a story you’ll misread.
- The false hold. A decent pull disconnects it. On a tank arm, that’s a problem.
What we supply instead
FizzWizz ships only Dixon sanitary line pressure quick connects. They seat positively (you can hear and feel it), they release cleanly with a push on the collar, and there’s no doubt when they’re connected. On a device whose entire value is trustworthy pressure data, the fitting is not a commodity. It’s part of the measurement.
