# Servicing a Solenoid

## The three solenoids

Inside the FizzWizz are the **CO2 in** solenoid, the **head transfer** solenoid, and the **vent** solenoid. If product has gotten inside and one is sticking, the easiest fix is replacement.

## Steps

1. Disconnect from power. Take the lid off (four crosshead screws). The lid's switches are wired to the circuit board, so pop the push-tab connectors to free the lid.
2. Undo the four screws of the metal plate. Don't drop them into the bottom of the unit.
3. Note the wiring: solenoid **1 is CO2 in**, **2 is the vent**, **3 is head transfer**.
4. Orientation matters: on the vent and CO2-in solenoids the wires exit at the **top** of the box; on the head-transfer solenoid they exit at the **bottom**. Photograph it before you remove anything.
5. Push the yellow levers, disconnect the wire, undo the two larger corner screws, and remove the solenoid by pushing in the plastic collar of its pneumatic push-to-connects.
6. Fit the new one with the wires in the correct orientation, pipes pushed in about a centimeter, the two big screws back in the corners, the black wire to the **outside** of the box, and the prongs pushed fully into the terminal.
7. Reconnect the lid switches (bottom up), tuck all wires clear, and screw the lid back on.
